Nice, Easy Read

This is an excellent book that takes an extremely complicated profession and simplifies it into 37 easy-to-read pages. I'd recommend this book for anyone new to the commercial lending arena or any small business owners that want to get an inside view of how bankers (should) think when evaluating any new credit requests. Mr. Hodge does an excellent job of providing background information for borrowers and entrepreneurs who are often times caught on the outside looking in without much undertanding of the "process" because they 1) have never made an application for a commercial loan; or 2) never had a competent commercial banker like Mr. Hodge to properly explain the "process" to them.

An excellent primer on "real" small business financing

I recently took a position doing business development work for a commercial lending/crowdlending platform and I wanted a useful and readable guide to the business from a true, knowledgeable veteran. Malcolm Hodge's book is a great overview of the small business financing world. He uses his experience and knowledge to present many of the issues that arise in the small business lending environment. A great, concise read that I will be referencing many times in the future. There is more wisdom in these pages than in many technical treatments of the subject. A valuable and necessary resource.

Refreshingly Simple and Relatable

Mr. Hodge takes your hand and walks you through the small business commercial lending club, and I am thankful for that. As an accountant it is refreshing to hear sound financial principles being used to explain the intricacies of small business commercial lending practice. This book is a great read for anyone coming into the business to the more seasoned veteran. Thank You for the information!!
