Xavier is a butt-face

Milayna's Angel picks up right where Milayna left off. Except now there is trouble in paradise. Specifically, Chay's and Milayna's paradise. Xavier is a new character who is stirring up drama between Chay and Milayna. To make matters worse, Chay isn't being himself, and this causes Milayna to doubt the relationship she has with him.

To make things worse, there's a new villain in town and his name is Abaddon. Of course, he also wants Milayna dead. I think he is a considerable foe, more than Azazel was. However, he does seem to have different methods in carrying out his nefarious plans.

I must say, once Milayna started having visions of someone hurting her with only one person being a constant, I knew it was only a matter of time before something terrible happened. There was good build-up throughout the book to this one scene, but I honestly thought Milayna was stupid for not figuring it out sooner. Then again, she was hoping that her visions were wrong. Her trust in this person is so strong it is inconceivable to her that this person would ever try to hurt her. After the events in the first book, you'd think that she would learn to heed the visions and her gut.

Before I finish, I have to say that Xavier is a butt-face. Why can't the guy take a hint and back off? It's obvious that Chay and Milayna are together, and that she wants nothing to do with him. Ugh. I just hate Xavier. For being an angel, he certainly doesn't act like one.

A Great Sequel

I really loved the first book that I read in the series Milayna #1 and so I was very pleased to get the opportunity to read this book. I love paranormal and have gotten really into the angels/demons side of the genre. I found this book to be highly enjoyable and loved the twists that the author weaved into the story. Milyana was already a well developed character and in this book she really shows a lot of growth and further development. The author again writes in such a way that you are drawn into the story and find yourself experiencing it along with the characters. I read the book straight through and can't wait for the release of The Innocent, coming in November. I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Loved this sequel

I loved this sequel. I feel all the characters were developed in ways that both matured them and made them come alive . I enjoyed Milayna's new love interest the most--while I do like Chay I felt simce book one that there was something a little unhealthy about their relationship. I also love seeing more interacting with BFF Muriel, who in book one was often reffered to as the closest person to Milayna but I didn't really feel it like I did in this book. Can't wait for the next.

This was a good read.

This was a good read, though not as good as some of the other books in this series. Even so, I'm so happy I stuck it out and finished this series. I'll admit that I wasn't sure if this was the right series for me (I'm not into reading about escorts and sleeping with a different man every month), but that's not what this series is about AT ALL. Carlan has handled incredibly difficult topics (rape, sexual assault, physical assault, gambling, alcoholism, violence, abandonment, terrorism, abduction, etc.) really well, and these plot lines made this series unputdownable. I've finished almost every novella in one sitting.

Saddened by the fact that this is the second last book in this absolutely amazing series by the lovely Audrey Carlan. As always another amazing job well done Audrey. November is and will always be special to me not only was I named dropped but It's focussed on being Thankful for Friend's, family, life and love. I'm really looking forward to December to see how Mia's journey will end. If you haven't read this series than you are surely missing out on the best read that's way better than Fifty Shades of Grey #madlove #trustthejouney

Great addition to this 12 month journey/series!! Hoping for December to be the HEA!! Mia's journey has made me laugh, cry,scream and yell and almost throw my kindle across the room at the wall but I LOVED THIS WELL WRITTEN EMOTIONAL SERIES!!!! The author has a way with her writing that is highly addictive with characters that are like your friends/ family! !!

Nice and fast paced space opera

“Doc” Smith was a prolific writer of the Sci-fi genre. Very popular in the fifties and sixties, Lorde Tedric was a “Flash Gordon” type of hero in a mixed Sci-fi – Fantasy setting.

This is still a very entertaining story of a hero from another universe, which fought against sorcery and superstition and was “transported” to our universe for a purpose by the mysterious scientists.

Graduated from an “elite” academy (degenerated through the ages), Lord Tedric’s first mission will involve making contacts and allies, investigate a slav…errr…laborers revolt in a mining operation, face a powerful ancient enemy of Humanity and unveil a mysterious terror. All this while keeping “internal” enemies at bay.

Interesting, fast paced and exciting, it is obviously highly dated specially in the tech department (expected). Even so, it is interesting to check the development of the genre and to meet an interesting character or two.

A must read for every Coach and Local Pastor

The author does outstanding research on the history of sports and how it has been interwoven within the structure of religion. I read every word. As a retired minister and pastoral counselor I was astonished as to how much sports and religion are competitive yet are parallel and both are interwoven into our modern faith and belief systems. I have a son who is an Offensive Coordinator in a local high school and I give it to him for his birthday. It's a great gift. I recommended it last Christmas to a friend to give to their father who enjoys sports and has everything. I also recommended it to my attorney to give to his law partner.
